Spomenik (the Serbo-Croatian/Slovenian word for ‘monument‘) are a series of memorial structures built from the 1950s-1990s during Tito’s Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to honor its people’s resistance during the WWII against Axis occupation.
By utilizing 3D software, I was able to capture the geometric and brutalist essence of these monuments and create a series of flat illustrations that showcase their beauty and simplicity.
